Both locals and tourists alike flock to this large ski resort every winter, navigating the area using 14 ski lifts that ferry guests between an elevation of 250m and 957m.
Sunday River ski resort encompasses 8 different peaks, meaning there is a huge area to explore for visitors and residents during the winter season. They include White Cap, Locke Mountain, Barker Mountain, Spruce Peak, North Peak, Aurora Peak, Oz and Jordan Bowl. Combined, there are 30km of easy blue slopes, 40km of intermediate red slopes and 14km of difficult black slopes to contend with. This ensures that there is something for everyone, from those looking to have an exciting first skiing holiday, to those pro-skiers seeking their next exhilarating slope.
For the freestyle skiers, there 35 acres spread across six snow parks, including an 18-foot Superpipe for avid skiers to get to grips with. Additionally, there is a valley run for the explorers, and night skiing for those who want to cram in as much as possible during their stay.
There is so much to see and do here, guests will often find it a struggle getting time to eat! Thankfully there are so many bars and restaurants on offer, they will again be spoilt for choice. Highlights include Camp, Peak Lodge and Sliders Restaurant for food, whilst the Mountain Room and the Foggy Goggle will ensure those wanting refreshing après-ski drinks can find them easily enough.
