The Ski resort Catedral Alta Patagonia is located in San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina. With a magnificent 120 kilometres of ski slopes and elevations of 1,030 and 2,180 metres this versatile resort is perfect for all abilities and ages with slopes ranging from smooth and gentle, to extreme descents and terrain.
For beginner skiers and young families there are 30 kilometres of ‘easy’ blue slopes, ideal for those who want wider, gentler slopes. For those who want a little more exhilaration, there are 60 kilometres of ‘intermediate’ red slopes including ‘Nubes’ and ‘Panoramica’. If you’re a more confident skier and want the challenge of steeper slopes then ‘Patrulla’ is perfect alongside 30 kilometres of ‘expert’ black slopes. In addition to the 120 kilometres of ski routes, there is a further 10 kilometres of additional slopes for free riders.
Residents and visitors can also take advantage of the wide range of different activities the resort has to offer. Snow shoe walking gives the opportunity to experience a different walk in the snow on some of the prepared and guided trails. Sledging combines the fun and adrenaline of a high-speed descent on the snow. Donuts are also a popular favourite. Snow BMXing takes place in a specially designed circuit at the base and the Magical II and Snow scooting is also located at "La Hoyita".
Throughout the mountain, there are several bars and cafes to rest up whilst gazing out at stunning landscapes. ‘The Keg’ is a mountain guesthouse with a large terrace and serves burgers and pizzas, and ‘The Rodeo’ is located at the base of Cerro Catedral, metres from the Condor Chairlift 1 and offers magnificent views of Cerro and Lake Nahuel Huapi.
