Caviahue resort information

The ski resort Caviahue is located in the Neuquén Province, Argentina and is in the heart of the Andes Mountain Range. The resort was host to the first Argentine Winter Games which were celebrated here in 2016. There are over 25 kilometres of slopes for guests and residents to enjoy and with elevation ranges between 1,650 and 2,958 good snow coverage is ensured throughout the winter season.

Novices, new skiers and younger children can get to grips with their skis on the 9 kilometres of ‘easy’ blue slopes, learning to stop and turn on a much smoother terrain. More confident skiers can test out their skills on 8 kilometres of ‘intermediate’ red slopes, whilst the most ambitious skiers and professionals can have endless, extreme fun on 8 kilometres of ‘expert’ black slopes. An added bonus is the exhilarating 8-kilometre off-piste descent from the volcano crater to the base of the resort.

Alternative activities are on offer within the resort, as visitors and residents can experience snowboarding, snowmobiles, snowshoe trekking, cross-country skiing, trips in caterpillar track vehicles, dog sledding, and night time excursions to the mountain shelters. An amazing opportunity that cannot be missed is a beautiful downhill trek from the top of Mount Caviahue to Lake Agrio.

If you want something a little more relaxing then there are termas (or hot springs) in the nearby town of Copahue. There is a large cafe located at the base area with a great sun deck where you can watch the skiers and snowboarders hard at work. This resort is an ideal destination for all the family to enjoy with rewarding slopes and astonishing views to create unforgettable moments.
