In the District of Urfahr-Umgebung, the ski resort Sternstein – Bad Leonfelden has over 5km on offer for visitors and residents. This Austrian ski resort has 2 ski lifts for guests to utilise during their stay, and the resort is at an elevation of between 814m and 1,102m.
Very much a family resort, the wide and gentle slopes tend to attract the younger skiers and snowboarders. However, with having 1km of easy blue slopes and 4km of intermediate red slopes, it means that those beginners looking to take the next step up in ability, have plenty of interesting surfaces to get to grips with. The Slalom slope is recommended at the resort as well as the valley run for those wanting to explore the area. For any reason, if the snowfall isn’t as consistent on one day, thankfully the resort has artificial snow-making capabilities to provide fresh snow every morning.
Those who need to recharge after a long day of skiing or snowboarding can find plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. They include Waldschenke am Sternstein and Leonfeldner-Hof, which also has a terrace for some great views and a spa to recuperate those aching muscles.
