Sat within the Ausseerland region of Austria, the Tauplitz – Bad Mitterndorf ski resort has over 43km of fresh slopes available, along with 2km of marked ski routes to keep explorers happy. There are 16 ski lifts for visitors and residents to utilise when staying at the resort, including a new 8-person gondola. The resort is situated within elevations of 896m and 1,965m.
Locals and tourists are drawn to this resort in drives, given the great balance of slopes for every different skiing ability. There are 18km of easy blue runs, 19km of intermediate red runs and 6km of difficult black runs on offer to tantalise winter sports fans. The fact that there is such a balance ensures that if guests are travelling in a party of mixed ability, then they can easily split up to find the slopes that cater to their individual skill level. Beginners have plenty of wide slopes to practice on, whilst pro-skiers can discover the No. 27 Mitterstein, the hardest slope at the resort at 1km in length. Other great slopes include the No.23 Lawinenstein, the No.1 Tauplitz valley run and the No.3 connection Tauplitz-Bad Mittendorf valley run.
For a great bite to eat after a strenuous but fun day on the slopes, guests are encouraged to try Hollhaus - OAV Berggasthof, Almwirtschaft Grazerhütte and Schöni Alm.
