Dachstein Glacier ski resort can be found in the breath-taking mountains of Schladming Dachstein, Austria. This petite resort is a wonderful choice for skiing and snowboarding with 5km of slopes available, (4km of which are for intermediate skiers and 1km for difficult runs). There are 5 operational lifts to escort guests to their chosen peak. Elevations are between 2264m and 2700m. Located just 20 minutes from the nearest airport, this really is a wonderful choice of skiing destination for all the family.
Dachstein is the first glacier in the Alps where skiing is possible, and the slope that homes the glacier lift is an experience in itself. You are elevated 1000m and bypass a steep cliff, before you arrive at the top to find a panoramic view of mountain peaks. The view is magnificent, and if that isn’t enough, keep your eyes peeled for the unmissable ‘Ice Palace’.
The longest run available here is Mitterstein Nord (north) slope, which is 1.1 km in total. On the other hand, the most difficult run is the Mitterstein Süd (south) slope. Whilst the experienced skiers can try out the difficult and longest runs, why not allow for the little ones to spend time at the snow park. There is also a slight easy run available access can be gained by using the Schladminger Gletscher lift.
