Fendels ski resort is located in Holiday Region of Tiroler Oberland (Tyrolean Oberland) Austria and is only a short 20 minute transfer from the nearest airport. This small resort offers an amazing view of Inntal and the surrounding mountains. It may be a small resort but a unique selling point of this resort is that the lift pass can also be used on the nearby Kaunertal Glacier, meaning additional slopes are not too far away.
The resort totals 10.6 kilometres of slopes with elevations between 1,325 and 2,271 metres and provides something for everyone from wide, easy slopes to forest-lined pistes and powder descents. For novice skiers there are 6.1kilometres of ‘easy’ green runs with a gentle pace. For those who are after speedier and more intermediate slopes there are 3.5 kilometres of blue/red runs. Finally, there resort has 1 kilometre of ‘difficult’ black runs, perfect if you’re a thrill seeker wanting that adrenaline rush. Night skiing is also available on the 2.5 kilometres of floodlit slopes, perfect for those who find the skiing day that little bit too short.
There are so many other activities to engage in at the Fendels ski resort, a very popular highlight is when the swimming lake in Ried freezes over it becomes a huge ice skating rink and is one of the largest rinks in the region. There are also the usually activities such as sledding, tobogganing and winter hikes as well as the wellbeing Centre, with a Finnish sauna and steam room.
Highlights for dining and après ski include the ‘Truyenstube’ it a fantastic restaurant at the resort and offers great food from a varied menu or why not try the Restaurant Jägerhof for their regional Tyrolean dishes.
