The ski resort Katschberg is located in the Holiday Region of Katschberg-Rennweg, Upper Carinthia, Austria. Only a 1-hour transfer away from either Klagenfurt Airport and Salzburg Airport, Katschberg is a very popular choice for both visitors and locals. With elevations between 1,066 and 2,220 metres and over 70 kilometres of varied slopes, there really is something to suite every taste.
Covering pistes of all difficulties, with intermediate slopes making up the majority, skiers can choose to take it easy on the 10 kilometres of easy slopes, build up their confidence on a whopping 50 kilometres of intermediate slopes or really show off their endurance skills on the 10 kilometres of downhill expert slopes. For beginners there are two slow paced beginner areas in the Katschberghöhe or in St. Margarethen areas. Children will also have great fun in the Katschis Children's World which is a designated children’s area that provides easy slopes and a play area. For the more adrenaline hungry skiers, the most challenging slopes is the Direttissima which leads from the Aineck down to the Katschberg and is a total of 3 kilometres long or you can even head for the black Tschaneck slope which is 1,750 metres long.
After a long day of skiing there are 13 fantastic Mountain restaurants & Ski huts to choose to spend your time. Relax in the Hintereggers Ainkehr, a gourmet ski hut or soak up the scenery in Gamskogelhütte, a cosy ski hut which offers a large sun terrace and serves a range of local cuisines including Carinthian delicacies.
