In the heart of Zell am See-Kaprun, Salzburg, Austria lies the fantastic Kitzsteinhorn – Kaprun ski resort. Only a 90-minute transfer from Salzburg Airport, this resort is ideal for experts, beginners and families who want to indulge in exhilarating skiing, a variety of winter activities and relaxing après-ski. It is a legendary resort as it’s the first glacial ski resort in Austria and the only resort in the Province of Salzburg which is open from October until July.
The resort itself boasts 41 kilometres of slopes in a range of ability levels which are perfect to suit those from novice to expert. With a range of elevations between 1,978 and 3,029 meters, these perfectly groomed slopes with 105 snow cannons ensure a good snow coverage throughout the winter. 13 kilometres of the slopes are classified as ‘easy’ and provide opportunities for novice skiers of all ages to find balance and confidence on their skis or boards. The 25 kilometres of ‘intermediate’ slopes are fantastic for those who are wanting a bit more of a challenge and the 3 kilometres of ‘expert runs’ means even the most ambitious of skiers and professionals can have endless fun on the slopes, for real exhilaration try out the Black Mamba, the most demanding slope which is 1 kilometre in length, more advanced skiers can also try out the addition 8.9 kilometres of marked ski routes.
The Kitzsteinhorn – Kaprun has over 8 Mountain restaurants & Ski huts to choose from when it comes to diming and après ski. Typical Austrian cuisine is served in the Gletschermühle restaurant whilst amazing après ski takes place in Langwiedboden ice camp with its igloo and large sun terrace.
