The ski resort Mayrhofen – Penken/Ahorn/Rastkogel/Eggalm is located in the Mayrhofen-Hippach Holiday Region and in Tux-Finkenberg Regions of Tyrol, Austria. The resort spans over multiple mountains and is a skier’s paradise. It is only an hour transfer away from Innsbruck Airport so is an ideal destination for those who want to get off the plane and hit the slopes as soon as possible.
It encompasses a vast 136 kilometres of interlinked slopes with elevations ranging between 630 and 2,500 metres, resulting in a wide variety of breathtaking landscapes and terrain to explore. These slopes are enough to challenge any skier or snowboarder and consist of 40 kilometres of easy slopes with wide runs and smooth terrain in the Horberg Valley area of the resort. For those who are a little more confident can challenge themselves on the 66 kilometres of intermediate slopes including the slightly more demanding Valley Run. There are 30 kilometres of expert slopes for thrill seekers who want extreme exhilaration, which can be found at the top of the Horbergjoch chairlift. The Harakiri is the resorts steepest and most intensive run with its 78% downhill grade. On top of all this, guests can also find an additional 10 kilometres of marked ski routes.
Alongside the extensive variety of slopes, the resort also offers wide range of different activities including the very popular snow tubing, paragliding, sleigh trips and winter hiking trails for a chance to experience walking with snowshoes, this is an ideal way to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty that Mayrhofen has to offer.
