The ski resort Rauriser Hochalmbahnen – Rauris is located in Raurisertal, Salzburg, Austria and is one of the most beautiful resorts in the Alpine region. With elevations between 940 and 2,175 metres and 32.5 kilometres of slopes, it is easy to see why it is a firm favourite for many, whether you’re a family, beginner or powder professional.
For novices and younger families there are 15 kilometres of easy slopes to find your feet on your skis, the Schwazerwiese practice slope usually being the first slope to tackle working your way up to trickier slopes at the top of the Hochalm lift. For those who already know how to ski and are in the average-advanced level, there are more slopes to choose from with over 12.5 kilometres of routes including those at the top of the Kreuzboden lift. There is also a 5 kilometres black slope for experts called the Heimalm-Rauris which is 5 kilometres long. If you are an extreme adrenaline junkie, then this is the slope for you. If this isn’t enough for you then there is a further 5 kilometres of additional ski routes available to experience.
When it's time to take a break from the slopes why not take part in one of the many other activities on offer including ski-touring guide alongside the mountains of the Goldberg Group, snowshoeing through Kolm Saigurn valley, tobogganing on the 2-kilometre-long Kreuzboden run or even give yourself a vertical challenge and go ice climbing or for something a little calmer, take a horse-drawn carriage rides take you out through Rauris Valley. There really is so much to do at this amazing resort.
