One of the best examples of Austrian skiing can be found at Sportgastein, situated in the Gastein region of the country. Here, there can be found 18.2km of slopes available and 7.7km of additional ski routes to discover. With 3 ski lifts that can be used by guests to navigate the resort, they can find slopes in between elevations of 1,590m and 2,686m.
The slopes can be divided by skiing and snowboarding ability, including 3.5km of blue runs, 13.2km of red runs and 1.5km of black runs. The emphasis here is on intermediate skiing ability, with smaller portions for novice skiers and pro-skiers alike. Limited ability winter sports fans will be at home here, finding their feet as well as a number of slopes that will urge them to go faster and take on bigger challenges during their stay. At this resort guests can discover another 7.7km of marked ski routes as well as a valley run too.
Once the day is done on the slopes, visitors and residents can find easy-to-reach restaurants, bars and cafes that will provide fantastic local cuisine and great drinks as well. Highlights include Valeriehaus and Weitblick amongst other wonderful eateries in the area.
