Within Upper Bavaria, Germany, lies the medium-sized ski resort Zugspitze, which has over 20km of fantastic slopes on offer to tantalise avid skiers and snowboarders. Guests can make the most of the 10 ski lifts here to make their way around the resort at a decent pace, whilst the elevation of the resort is between 2,000m and 2,720m.
Situated on Germany’s highest mountain at almost 3000m above sea level at its peak, the Zugspitze resort benefits from the high altitudes, with practically guaranteed snowfall for 7 months of the year. There are also spectacular views above the clouds at the resort, which is truly fascinating to behold whilst skiing or snowboarding.
In total, there are 7km of slopes allocated for easy runs and 13km of slopes allocated for intermediate runs, but none allocated for difficult runs. This means the resort is predominantly for those with some skiing experience, who want to take it to the next level on the red slopes, or complete beginners who want to learn the basic techniques whilst on holiday. For the best skiing at the resort, try out the Wetterwandeck Ost, more specifically slopes number 4 and 5.
