The ski resort Crystal Mountain is located in Washington State, in the USA and boasts the reputation of being one of the most popular resorts in the state. With elevations between 1,341 and 2,137 metres and 50 kilometres of slopes, it is easy to see why it is a firm favourite for many.
For novices and younger families there are 8 kilometres of easy slopes to find your feet on your skis, The Meadow usually being the first slope to tackle working your way up to trickier slopes in Snow Garden. For those who already know how to ski and are in the average-advanced level, there are more slopes to choose from with over 27 kilometres of routes including those such as Kelly’s Gap Road. There is also 15 kilometres of black tracks for experts including the double diamond black runs Bull Run and The Plunge. If you are an extreme adrenaline junkie, then these are the slopes for you.
When it's time to take a break from the slopes why not take in the spectacular landscape on the Mount Rainier Gondola ride which offers breath-taking views of Mt. Rainier. Here there is also an opportunity to visit Summit House, Washington’s highest elevation restaurant. For something a little calmer then there are snowshoe walks where guests have the option of a guided Saturday snowshoe tour with dinner included.
Après ski at this resort is just as good as the day on the slopes, with live music at the Snorting Elk where guests can enjoy music and drinks on the sundeck. Chinook Cafe is the perfect place to grab a coffee, relax and warm up watching TV by the fire. As mentioned before summit house which is located at 6,872 feet overs superb panoramic views of Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Baker and Glacier Peak.
