The ski resort Mammoth Mountain is located at Mammoth Lakes in California, United States of America and is only 30 minutes away from Mammoth Lakes Airport. Boasting over 89.8 kilometres of diverse slopes and 100 kilometres of additional marked ski routes, visitors and residents are lucky enough to enjoy elevations between 2,424 and 3,369 metres which means there really is something for every skiing ability.
There are slopes of all difficulty levels ranging from steep slopes to beginner runs, the 18.4 kilometres of ‘easy’ blue runs are perfect for beginners who are looking to try out their skis for the first time. The Eagle Lodge and Canyon Lodge are ideal for novices, there is even a designated beginner’s area and a ski school for those who want to improve their skills and confidence. 48.5 kilometres of ‘intermediate’ red runs and 22.9 kilometres of ‘expert’ black runs provide some steep and exhilarating slopes for the more advanced skiers to challenge themselves. As well as skiing, the resort also provides a wide range of other amenities and activities for people to enjoy, there is tobogganing, snowshoe hiking and snow parks for those who are looking for a little more adventure off the slopes.
Once the skiing day is over, residents can wind down and recharge their batteries in some of the delightful rustic huts and restaurants. The The Yodler, located by the Main Lodge base station is favoured by many as it serves delicious food with postcard worthy views.
