Mt. Baker is a ski resort located in the popular area of Washington State in the United States of America. It catches the attention of winter sports enthusiasts during ski season and lives up to its reputation of ‘steep and deep’ with an average of 682” of annual snowfall.
With elevations between 1,070 and 1,525 meters and 100 kilometres of slopes, this fantastic resort is ideal for experts, intermediates and snowboarders. The slopes span two mountains - Mount Shuskan and Panorama Dome, both providing fantastic slopes for a range of abilities, although it is more suited to intermediate and expert skiers. There are 24 kilometres of easy slopes which can be found in the Heather Meadows area of the resort, there are also a few blue slopes just off the chair 8 lifts which usually remain fairly quiet. There are 45 kilometres of intermediate runs where the more confident skiers can take advantage of the wide-open bowls and long top-to-bottom runs and 31 kilometres of expert slopes - The Chute is a steep a narrow gully between a huge cliff-band which can put even the most experienced skiers through their paces.
To charge your batteries at the start of a long day of skiing then head to the Wake n’ Bakery, perfect for a good hearty breakfast and pastries. Whereas up on the mountain you will come across the White Salmon Day Lodge, which provides some delicious food as well as serving up some spectacular scenery.
