For the best skiing and snowboarding in West Virginia, USA, book yourself into Snowshoe Mountain. There are 31km of slopes to enjoy at this resort, with 12 ski lifts to ferry guests around. The resort is also situated at elevations between 1,000m and 1,478m. With an annual snowfall of 180 inches, visitors and residents are bound to enjoy a great deal of skiing and snowboarding during the winter months.
There are three separate territories that make up the resort: Snowshoe basin, Silver Creek and Western Territory. With 14km of easy blue runs, 11km of intermediate red runs and 6km of difficult black runs, there is something here for every skiing ability. Highlights include the Cupp Run designed by Olympian Jean-Claude Killy, Shay’s Revenge and Widowmaker, an expert bomber run. In addition, there is a Coca-Cola tubing park and night skiing available on 12 trails in the Silver Creek area.
