In the district of Bludenz lies a wonderful ski resort by the name of Sonnenkopf – Klösterle, with 29.5km of slopes available for skiers and snowboarders to explore. With an additional 4km of marked ski routes, there are 9 ski lifts to transport guests between elevations of 1,000m and 2,300m.
This resort is pretty much universal in terms of the type and ability of skiers they welcome, but they like to consider themselves a family resort first and foremost. In fact, the 12.8km of easy blue runs should satisfy most newcomers to winter sports, including younger children who might well be having their first experience on snow. There are also 15.9km of intermediate red slopes for those wanting to take that next step up, or even 0.8km of difficult black runs for the experts. All in all, this ensures everyone who comes to the resort should have a slope suiting their ability. Recommended slopes include Muri Standard slope no. 5 and Hintere Muri Slope no. 3, along with the longest slope which starts at the Glattingrat and ends at the base station in Klösterle 7.5km away.
For those wanting a bite to eat after their adventures on the snow, try the Bergrestaurant Sonnenkopf for astounding panoramic views and delicious food. If you would prefer a cocktail in the sun, head down to the Ice Bar and get comfortable on one of the deck chairs there.
