Cardrona resort information

The Cardrona Ski Resort is Located in Otago, New Zealand. Surrounded by breath-taking alpine scenery and offering a diverse range of slopes and activities, this resort is perfect for that special winter holiday. With elevation ranges between 1,260 and 1,860 metres, visitors will be in awe of the incredible views of Lake Wakatipu and the Southern Alps.

There are 9 kilometres of ‘easy’ blue slopes and beginner trails, perfect for those finding their feet. Wide slopes ensure there is plenty of space to practice and the McDougall Express lift is an ideal next step after progressing from the flats.

The 20 kilometres of ‘intermediate’ red slopes, which are much steeper and demanding, located in the Arcardia Chutes and the 11 kilometres of ‘expert’ black slopes within the Captain’s area are an off-piste playground for those who are looking for exhilaration and excitement on the slopes. Cardrona also boasts the most extensive terrain park facilities in the area and is home to the New Zealand Olympic Park and Pipe Team, providing pipes, rails, boxes and off-trail slopes perfect for free-riders. Snowshoe hikes and tubing are amongst the many activities visitors can experience whilst at the resort.

Après-ski is also popular here, with a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars and terraces. The Mezz Café is a perfect spot to grab a quick drink and is located at the bottom of McDougall Express or at the base of Valley View Quad. There is the Little Meg Café to warm up with a drink after the slopes, whilst the Captain’s Café serves fantastic food and is known for its delicious pizza, perfect food for all the family.
