Set within the stunning valleys of Canterbury, New Zealand, the Temple Basin ski resort is a great option for globe-trotters who may have never considered the typically picturesque country as a skiing or snowboarding hotspot. There are 10km of slopes available at the resort, as well as 3 ski lifts that will transport guests around the resort in perfect comfort. Elevations of the resort range between 1,326m and 1,753m.
Founded in 1929, this resort is one of the oldest in New Zealand, and visitors and residents can expect an abundance of fresh snow during the winter period due to the natural positioning on the main divide of the Southern Alps of New Zealand. There are 2.5km of easy blue slopes, 5km of intermediate red slopes and 2.5km of difficult black slopes to contend with. This balance ensures that beginners can learn how to ski in peace, while advanced skiers are able to sweep down steep slopes, honing their technique. There is a valley run available at the resort, as well as illuminated slopes for night skiing to enable guests to extend their skiing day into the evening.
