Touted as the largest ski resort on Norway, the Trysil ski area encompasses 71km of glorious winter slopes and 31 ski lifts to ferry skiers and snowboarders around. Situated in the stunning Hedmark region of the country, the resort stands at elevations between 415m and 1,100m above sea level.
Situated on the Trysilfjellt, which is a peak standing at 1,132m high, this medium-sized resort has a little bit of something for everyone. There are 33km of easy blue slopes, 18km of intermediate red slopes and 20km of difficult black slopes on offer here, which should leave most winter sports enthusiasts completely spoilt for choice. Whilst beginners can check out the gentler slopes when practicing basic manoeuvres, the more advanced pro skiers can enjoy the sharp turns and steep drops of the black slopes instead. Recommended slopes include No.30, No.46 and No. 79, although No. 75 is considered the hardest at the resort with a 45-degree slope. The longest course is the valley run to Trysil which is 5.4km and has an elevation difference of 685m.
Amongst the local favourites, visitors and residents can seek out some great restaurants and bars including Skihytta, Happy Faces and Knettsetra.
