Snowmass resort information

As one of the largest ski resorts in the USA, if not the world, Aspen Snowmass in Colarado has an eye-watering number of slopes to explore, with over 237km available. Skiers and snowboarders might be hard pressed to experience all of the runs in one holiday, but they can navigate the resort easily using 17 ski lifts that will ferry passengers to slopes between 2,473m and 3,813m.

In totality, there are 14.2km of easy blue slopes, 111km of intermediate red slopes and 111km of difficult black slopes. This gives guests more than enough to enjoy, as well as a great deal to challenge more advanced skiers who are chasing another adrenaline rush. In general, the easier runs are found in the lower part of the ski resort, where newcomers to skiing can take it at their own pace, or join up with the ski school to get to grips with the basics on the snow. The valley run is the longest run in the resort at 8.5km in length, whilst the Cirque Headwall is the most difficult course to navigate. Additional activities consist of snow tubing, snowcat tours, naturalist tours, snowshoe tours and cross-country skiing.

In terms of bars and restaurants, you are pretty much spoilt for choice, given that there are over 100 in the resort alone. Highlights consist of The Cliffhouse, Elk Camp Restaurant, Lynn Britt Cabin and Sam’s Smokehouse. For some quality après ski fun, try Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro, Ajax Tavern and the Limelight Lounge to take you into the early morning light.
