Nestled amongst the Rocky Mountains, the ski resort Castle Mountain is located in Alberta, Southern Canada. It is renowned for hosting the 1975 Canada Winter Games and features long steep runs and an average of 9 metres or 30 feet of snowfall every year.
There is something for everyone as the resort has elevations between 1,410 and 2,273 metres and a whopping 94 kilometres of ski slopes consisting of a wide variety of terrains. It is aimed more towards the advanced skiers, with 65 kilometres of ‘expert’ black slopes perfect for those ambitious skiers and professionals who want endless fun on the snow. There are 20 kilometres of ‘intermediate’ red slopes for those who want a challenge and 9 kilometres of ‘easy’ blue slopes for those who are still getting to grips with their skis. Its wide range of slopes make this resort an ideal destination for all the family.
This resort is much more than just skiing and provides a wealth of alternative activities, They include Cat skiing, snowshoe hiking and the cross-country ski trails on Syncline Cross and Allison Chinook Cross, which are very popular with visitors. When it’s time to take a break from the slopes, why not warm up by the fireplace at Beaver Mines, which serves good food and beverages.
