The Ski Resort Mt. Norquay – Banff is nestled in the Alberta Rockies of Alberta, Canada and is only a 1 hour and 30-minute transfer from Calgary Airport. It is one of the oldest ski resorts in Canada and the high altitudes of the famous Rockies guarantee a wonderful winter holiday.
With elevations between 1,630 and 2,133 metres and over 16.4 kilometres of slopes, there really is something to suite every taste. Covering pistes of all difficulties skiers can choose to take it easy on the 5.1 kilometres of easy slopes, located at the Sundance Surface or accessed from the Cascade Chair. Skiers can build up their confidence on 4.1 kilometres of intermediate slopes located at the top of the North American Chair lift or really show off their endurance skills on the 7.2 kilometres of downhill expert slopes. The Gun Run is the resorts most exhilarating slope and is 0.6 kilometres in length. Skiers and snowboarders will revel in the fact that there are very short waiting times for the 4 lifts situated in the resort. These lifts ensure transportation around the resort is quick and easy as well as giving residents the time to take it the breath-taking alpine views on offer.
Alternative activities include snowboarding, tobogganing and snowshoe hiking through the snow-covered mountain ranges. There are a range of different restaurants and bars that residents can kick back and relax in. The Elk & Oarsman is the most famous restaurant and bar in Banff and is well known for its delicious steaks. For something a little livelier the Cascade Lodge serves a range of different beverages and often has live bands playing as quality entertainment.
