To ski at high altitudes the Whakapapa ski resort is a perfect choice, it can be found in Manawatu-Wanganui, North Island, New Zealand. There are various slopes available for skiing and snowboarding, there are in total 44km of slopes, 2km of easy runs for beginners to practice on and learn the skills required to explore, intermediate slopes dominate the resort with 28km of slopes available, and for expert skiers there is 14km of terrain to challenge and explore. If the slopes aren’t enough the valley run should be satisfactory, it is the longest run at the resort being 4km in length.
Throughout the resort there are 9 lifts operating to transport guests and elevations at Whakapapa are between 1,630 and 2,300m. At the highest elevation guests are able to find an array of slopes all varying in levels of difficulty. At the ‘Happy Valley’ there are multiple things to do including dining, sledging, hiking and more.
