Located in the Calgary Region of Alberta, Canada is the Canada Olympic Park - Calgary. This is a small but very impressive resort where the 1988 Winter Olympic Games took place. There is 4 kilometres of slopes with elevations between 1,130 and 1,246 metres targeted towards easy and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. The 3.5 kilometres of ‘easy’ blue slopes mainly situated on the valley run are manageable and achievable to help build confidence, whilst the 0.5 kilometres of ‘intermediate’ red slopes provide more of a challenge for more experienced skiers.
Located within the resort is a fantastic snow park for snowboarding. It includes obstacles, boardercross and 2 large half pipes; a paradise for freestylers. The superpipe in the park is one of the largest pipes in Canada. There is also Burton Progression Park to help snowboarders to develop their skills. Other activities include a bobsled run where guests can hit up to 100kmph lead by an expert pilot, a ski jump area and ice skating at the Ice House.
When it’s time to take a break from the slopes, the restaurant at the Base Lodge is ideal for a warm drink or an alcoholic beverage on the terrace, perfect for watching the skiers go about their day or watching the stars in the night sky.
