The Grouse Mountain ski resort is located in metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and is only a short 40 minute transfer from Vancouver Airport. It is a fantastic destination with many ways in which guests and visitors can choose to spend their time. With 33 kilometres of slopes and elevations between 580 and 1,250 meters this resort is a popular one for beginners and families and was the host of the Winter Olympics in 2010.
This resort is best suited to ‘intermediate’ skiers, however there are simpler runs for beginners. The variety of slopes take guests on a tour through forest aisles down to valleys and offer fantastic views of Vancouver and the Pacific. There are 5.2 kilometres of ‘easy’ blue runs, 14.4 kilometres of ‘intermediate’ red runs and 13.4 kilometres of ‘difficult’ black runs, if you are looking for pure adrenaline then the most difficult run is ‘Purgatory’ which is 1 kilometre in length. The resort also consists of a snow park, ideal for free riders and night skiing is available throughout the entire resort and is open daily until 22:00. From here the twinkling views of Vancouver are accessible and beautifully breath-taking.
On the whole, this resort attracts a diverse customer base for those wanting to ski, relax or go on an adventure. The Observatory restaurant at the mountain station offers guests fantastic cuisine as well as astonishing views, reservations need to be made to avoid disappointment. You can end your long day on the slopes relaxing by the fire at the bar in the Peak Chalet.
