Located in the Comox Valley Regional District of Vancouver, Canada, is the ski resort Mount Washington. This amazing resort is nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the snowy peaks of Strathcona Provincial Park and has the reputation of being one of Vancouver Island's largest year-round family resort. With over 60 kilometres of slopes at elevations between 1,083 and 1,588 metres, the Mount Washington has something for everyone to enjoy a fantastic winter sports holiday.
Its slopes are mainly targeted to the intermediate and advanced skiers but that’s not to say there isn’t something for the beginner skiers to have their fill of adventure in the snow. With 12 kilometres of easy terrain with wide, perfectly groomed runs to practice on, 21 kilometres of intermediate slopes for those who are slightly more confident on their skis, right up to 27 kilometres of difficult runs to challenge even the most expert skiers.
If you enjoy skiing under the stars then you are in luck, as the resort provides both alpine skiing and Nordic skiing under their floodlit slopes. Guests can also enjoy some all-round family fun, sledding in the designated tobogganing area. Mount Washington even has 2 terrain parks, the main park consists of great obstacles such as rails, decks, boxes and jumps whilst the other park is for the younger, beginner snowboarders who are looking to progress their skills.
There are so many eateries to choose from on the slopes of Mount Washington, with Ted's Bar + Grill and the new Eagle View Bistro naming just a few. In the evening Ted’s Bar opens its dance floor playing great music to take you through to the late hours.
