Within the Thompson-Nicola Regional District of British Columbia in Canada, the Sun Peaks ski resort provides skiers and snowboarders with an abundance of wonderful slopes to get to grips with. In fact, there are 135km of available slopes, which leaves many guests completely spoilt for choice when they are navigating the resort. To do this easily, there are 9 ski lifts that take guests between elevations of 1,198m and 2,082m.
There is a huge amount on offer at this large ski resort, which is also surrounded by three mountains, all accessible for skiing during the winter season. In total, there are 13.5km of easy slopes, 78km of intermediate slopes and 43.5km of difficult slopes. Although beginners have plenty of surfaces to hone their technique and build their confidence, the majority of slopes at the resort are dedicated to those who have an adequate grasp of the basics, as well as those advanced enough to handle steep descents. Slopes to look out for include Cariboo, Cruiser, Smile, Exhibition, and one aptly named, Mid Life Crisis. The longest run here is called 5 Mile and the most difficult is called Freddy’s Nightmare, at 1km in length.
Alongside the traditional facilities for skiing and snowboarding, there is also other activities on offer at this vast winter paradise. These include Cat Trax Groomer rides, Dog Sled Tours, Fat Biking, Ice Fishing, Ice Skating, Snowmobile tours and a Tube Park.
