Set within the beautiful Alberta Rockies is the ski resort known as Sunshine Village. Located in the Banff & Lake Louise area of Canada, the resort offers a huge 109km of sublime ski slopes, where visitors and residents will struggle trying to fit it all into one trip. To traverse the large area, the resort is well-equipped with 10 ski lifts, which will allow guests to get between elevations of 1,660m and 2,730m.
Just 15 minutes from Banff, and with Banff National Park, the resort is blessed to be within an area of outstanding natural beauty. Once guests have got over the initial awe-inspiring views over the Canadian Rocky Mountains, they can take advantage of the excellent slopes on offer. In total, there are 25km of easy blue slopes, 50km of intermediate red slopes and 34km of difficult black slopes. This ensures that the resort is pretty-much universal in appeal, in that it can quite easily cater for complete beginners who have never set foot on the snow before, and pro-skiers who are better on two skis than they are on two legs.
Whereas Lookout Mountain is ideal for beginners, Goat’s Eye Mountain has everything an advanced skier could ever wish for. Why not try slopes such as Glade Runner No. 79, Wawa Bowl No. 59, World Cup Downhill No. 27, Angel Flight No. 35, or if you’re feeling adventurous, the Wild-West & Delirium Dive is sure to get your blood pumping.
After an exciting day on the slopes, visitors and residents can look forward to tasting delicious local cuisine in restaurants such as Mad Trappers Smokehouse and the Alpine Grill.
