The outstanding Gaustablikk–Rjukan ski resort can be found in Telemark, Norway, located at the foot of the 1883 metres high Gaustatoppen, the highest mountain in Southern Norway. Only a 70-minute transfer from the nearest airport, it is the largest ski resort in the Telemark Region.
There is a total of 34 kilometres of slopes for skiing and snowboarding, set at elevations between 550 and 1,250 metres. This resort provides slopes of all difficulty levels to suit every ability, so that the most inexperienced skiers right up to ambitious skiers and professionals can have endless fun on the pistes. 22 kilometres of blue slopes provide smooth and easy runs for those who are new to the winter sport and are distributed throughout the entire ski resort. 8 kilometres of red slopes aimed towards more intermediate skiers can be found at the Gaustablikk Expressen and on the Skipsheisen.
Snow sport enthusiasts can indulge in their passion till their heart's content on the 4 kilometres of black runs on the Fjellheisen where the slopes are just above treeline, it is also possible to ski between the cliffs in the powder snow. There is also an additional 2 kilometres of marked ski routes for those who want experience more exhilarating terrain.
